The North Meadows Extension

Residents of Castle Rock are excited for the completion of the North Meadows Extension in the summer of 2016. Because the main entrance to The Meadows, via Meadows Boulevard, is often congested, Douglas County partnered with the Colorado Department of Transportation to create extensions of I-25 and Highway 85. This will provide another entrance to The Meadows and will also relieve some of the traffic at the Meadows/Founders Parkway interchange with I-25.  Costing around $67,895,000, this project will include the construction of three ramps and will be about two miles long. The North Meadows extension is the number 1 priority for transportation improvements in Castle Rock. With the town’s expanding population, the hope is that this project will help traffic run more smoothly.

Between I-25 and Highway 85, this new road will be called Castle Rock Pkwy. The rest of the road will be an extension of North Meadows Dr.  The north and southbound ramps will connect with I-25 and Highway 85 at Castlegate Dr. (near the Outlets).

If this project runs on schedule, The North Meadows Extension should be completed by July of next year.  This new access to The Meadows will make resident’s commutes just a little easier.
