Meet Maryalice

Maryalice McHughHailing from Illinois, Maryalice never expected to become involved with real estate. Since she was in high school, she had always felt at home in an office. After leaving her first full time job (which she held for 12 years), she became a real estate paralegal.  Many people in Illinios, at the time, relied on attorneys to aid them with buying and selling their properties; Maryalice was an asset to a solo practitioner, who needed a paralegal to finalize the closing process.  Because she needed to be closer to her aging parents, she eventually moved to Wisconsin. There, Maryalice was able to find a job in personal banking and aided clients who needed second mortgages. This past July, she decided to move to Colorado to be closer to her family, where she had the opportunity to become the Office Manager for the Scott Futa Home Team. Maryalice’s job is a necessity for the expanding company; she is in charge of filing documents, answering phone calls, and ensuring each transaction runs smoothly.  She has been able to put her organizational skills to use, admitting that she is better at arranging an office than she is at organizing her own house.

When she is not working, Maryalice enjoys spending time with her family. Now that she calls Colorado home, she is happy to be able to see her two grandsons often and support them during sporting events. Aside from being with her loved ones, she has always enjoyed travelling. After being involved in an exchange program in college and then visiting her daughter, Sarah, when she was in England, Maryalice fell in love with Europe.  If she were to win the lottery, Maryalice believes she would spend 6 months traveling throughout this continent. Genealogy has also been a great interest of hers, so, while in Scandinavia, she was able to visit family farms and churches, and reconnect with long-lost cousins. As far as entertainment goes, she has always loved classic movies, like Casablanca and An Affair to Remember, and crime novels, like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stieg Larsson.

Though she has only been in Colorado for a few months, Maryalice has become essential to the Scott Futa Home Team. This office manager brings her years of experience and her prior knowledge of the real estate field to the company. In her new home, she is able to work with the people she is close to and do what she loves: spend time with her family.

Meet Marci

MarciOriginally a graphic design major from Little Rock, Arkansas, Marci found her true calling for real estate after leaving her job in an art studio. Moving to Colorado in 2012 also prompted the shift in her career path. After starting behind a Keller Williams reception desk, Marci eventually moved up the ladder and did finances for the company’s Castle Rock office. During this period of time, she meet many interesting agents, but Scott Futa was able to provide her with the tools and experience she needed to become a part of a real estate team. Now, Marci is the Buyer’s Agent for the Scott Futa Home Team. She works with clients to help them find and purchase the perfect property that meets their criteria. However, Marci believes her biggest value to the company (and to her clientele) is handling the negotiation process. Because she is tech-savvy, she uses her familiarity with modern technology and social media to relate to buyers. Being a member of the Scott Futa Home Team has not only provided her with a flexible work schedule, but it gives her the opportunity to meet interesting people with unique backgrounds and visit a variety of properties.

Outside of work, Marci enjoys visiting local farmer’s markets and restaurants and spending time with her husband, her daughter, and her yellow lab and gray hound mix.  She considers herself to be a “foodie”. Though she loves having mac and cheese, chocolate, and wine at home, she has a passion for tasting unique gourmet foods. Marci’s favorite sweet treat is a raspberry croissant from Dream Pastries in downtown Castle Rock. As far as savory dishes go, she adores the fig bruschetta from Via Baci Italian Bistro in Lone Tree.  This food-lover also enjoys curling up and reading a good book on a rainy day. One of her favorite business books is Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi, and she also loves fictional literature, like My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Marci has had made her mark as an asset to the Scott Futa Home Team. Since entering the real estate field in 2013, been able to find the perfect work environment which caters to her talents and also provides her with the flexibility to enjoy the time she spends outside of the office: reading, eating, and being with her family.
